Truth Apostolic Church is located on Highway 56 in Vevay, Indiana.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

About the Bible: The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (II Timothy 3:16)

About God: There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. He is both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16)

About Sin and Salvation: Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation come by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Our basic and fundamental doctrine shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of Jesus for remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Romans 3:23-25, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; I Peter 3:20-21; Mark 16:16; Titus 3:5)

About the Gospel: The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4)

About Christian Living: As Christians, we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10)

About the Future: Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous with inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:11-15)

OUR UNIQUE WORSHIP…

We raise our hands becauseI Timothy 2:8 says, "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands."

We clap our hands becausePsalm 47:1 says, "O clap your hands, all ye people."

We sing and play music becauseEphesians 5:19 says to worship "in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord," and Psalm 150 says to praise God with musical instruments.

We worship with a joyful noise becausePsalm 66:1 says, "Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands."

We pray aloud because the early church "lifted up their voice to God with one accord" in prayer (Acts 4:24).

We dance in the Spirit becausePsalm 149:3 says, "Let them praise his name in the dance."

THE FIVE PURPOSES OF AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH

The apostolic church finds its beginning in the book of the Acts of the Apostles. Written by Luke, the beloved physician, Acts chronicles the work of the disciples of Jesus after He ascended into Heaven and the work of the church that would begin in Jerusalem. An in depth study of Acts reveals five areas of action that the Apostolic Church focused upon.

These five summary areas are Discipleship, Worship, Evangelism, Ministry and Fellowship. Each purpose carries specific import to the work of the church and allows for believer involvement in various areas.

Discipleship focuses on the education and growth of believers, both new or inexperienced believers and those that are more seasoned or experienced.

Evangelism focuses on the spreading of the Gospel message. It is the purpose that targets unbelievers in an attempt to connect them to the church, fellowship, and a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Worship is the programming of our church experience for maximum benefit and growth in grace and knowledge. Worship seeks to bring the very presence of infinite God and the presence of finite humanity together.

Ministry is the avenue by which believers fulfill commitments of service in various areas of the church. Ministry is the actual personal involvement of believers in the other purposes of the church.

Fellowship is the aspect of an Apostolic church by which believers and seekers come together in groups and get to know each other. It is the purpose that builds relationships among the people of God and creates the family.

Each opportunity listed is assigned to one of the purposes of the church. The purposes help to filter activities so that the church can maintain a balance of purpose.

Pastor Anthony Wilks and his wife, Lisa, have attended Truth Apostolic since they were both young. They met in the church and have been together ever since. At the young age of 15, Pastor Wilks felt his call to preach and began preparing himself for the ministry. Together, him and his wife served as Youth Pastors from 1998 until 2002, when they became Assistant Pastors. In March of 2006, Pastor Wilks officially became the Pastor of Truth Apostolic Church and has done a remarkable job in advancing and encouraging spiritual growth in the saints and igniting a passion for lost souls, as the Church’s mission is to know God and make Him known.

Truth Apostolic Church is also blessed with the Wilks’ two handsome sons; Landon and Drew.

Children's Ministry

Truth Apostolic Church believes our children are our future. The Bible says to, "Raise up a child in the way it should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

King's Kids

King's Kids is forall children, ages 5-11. Each month, we have a great time at the King's Kids Fun Night. There are lots of silly games, yummy snacks, fun songs and always a wonderful lesson about God's Word! Fun Night is usually held the second Friday night of each month. Please check our Church Calendar for the monthly date.

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning, we have Sunday School classes for our children. We have classes starting with our toddlers all the way up to our teenagers.

Children's Church

On Wednesday nights, our children enjoy a Bible lesson, craft time and a snack during Children's Church!

Super Sunday

Super Sunday is on the last Sunday of each month. During this time, all classes come together in the fellowship hall to sing songs, watch puppet shows, eat snack, enjoy crafts, win prizes and learn more about Jesus!

Seeking God, Serving Others, Saving A Lost World

Jail Ministry

At Truth Apostolic, we believe in, and practice, ministry to people in all stations of life. On Thursday evenings, members of our church teach Bible Studies at the Switzerland County Correctional Institute, reaching out with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to people in dire need.

Nursing Home Ministry

One in five adults, over the age of 65, will spend some part of their remaining years in a senior care facility.Residents in senior care facilities face new challenges, which can be difficult for many of them.We don't want them forgotten. We want to be there with God's love to provide support and encouragement. Truth Apostolic holds three nursing home services a month. On the first Saturday of each month, there is a service at the Warsaw Health Care Facility in Warsaw, KY. On the first Sunday and fourth Saturday of the month, there is a Singspiration at the Swiss Villa Nursing Home in Vevay.
